The Royal Society of Complicating Easy Things

Anthem

Oh, hail to the knot, so artfully tied,
In circles and loops, where solutions collide.
With gears that grind and scrolls that twine,
We champion the challenge, the complex design.

Complicate! Innovate! Make it ornate!
For simple is dull, and we can’t relate.
With effort profound, we’ll endlessly sing,
 The glory of complicating everything!

A fork with ten prongs, a clock with no face,
A staircase that winds but leads to no place.
Our minds shall unravel what’s easy and plain,
To weave into puzzles that drive us insane.

Complicate! Innovate! Make it ornate!
For simple is dull, and we can’t relate.
With effort profound, we’ll endlessly sing,
The glory of complicating everything!

From mazes of marble to locks with no keys,
We labor with love in complexities. A toast to the needless, a cheer to the grand,
Together we build what none understand.

Complicate! Innovate! Make it ornate!
For simple is dull, and we can’t relate.
The Royal Society, long may it reign,
In the grand halls of overly complex domains!

Oh, hail to our creed, both curious and bold,
the simple shall perish; complexity’s gold!

Oh hey, Complication is our legacy!

(To be sung with great pomp and unnecessary key changes)
